Cumberland County Surrogate
Arthur J. Marchand and Sheriff Michael F. Barruzza are pleased to announce the
winners of the County Poster Contest that was sponsored for the area 4th
graders. The overall 1st place winner of the contest was Juliana Bidic of
Woodland
Country
Day School
. The Following four
students' posters were also chosen by a penel of judges: First Runner-up was
James Polishchuk of Dr. William Mennies School in Vineland; Second Runner-up was
Anastasia Glouchtencko of Dr. William Mennies School in Vineland; Third
Runner-up Amani Bethea of our Lady of Guadalupe School in Bridgeton; and
Honorable Mention was awarded to Arnaldo Santos of Hopewell Crest School in
Hopewell Township.
All Participants of the
poster contest were awarded certificates of Participation along with a
certificate which was generously donated by Friendly's Restaurant in
Bridgeton
for a free ice cream sundae.
In addition, Surrogate Marchand held a special ceremony at the Cumberland County
Courthouse for the winners listed above, at which time he presented the winners
each an engraved plaque he himself donated, prepared especially for each winner
by Cumberland Engraving in
Bridgeton
. Also present at the
Courthouse ceremony for the presentation of the winning plaques were Cumberland
County Clerk Gloria Noto and Cumberland County Sheriff Michael Barruzza. "I am
especially pleased at the overwhelming response this poster contest generated
and thoroughly enjoyed the perspectives of the young students as depicted in
their posters. The students did a wonderful job of creatively displaying their
views of why makes
Cumberland
County
unique, each in their very
special way. Every student that entered the contest should be proud of
themselves and their work." commented Surrogate Marchand.
